Amend line 23 of the title by inserting the following after the semicolon:

TO REQUIRE THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT AS A FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY A CERTAIN PORTION OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 8;

Amend by inserting the following new section after line 137 and renumber subsequent sections accordingly:

SECTION 9. The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall perform preliminary engineering, acquire necessary right-of-way and construct or reconstruct and maintain as a four-lane highway the following segment of highway:

Northern District:

Mississippi 8 beginning at its intersection with U.S. Highway 49 West and extending westerly to Mississippi 1.
